Every hard-core gamer I know builds his own PC, and uses AMD. Not sure how Dell gets their view of this demographic.
"While AMD provides discounts on bulk purchases, Dell's AMD chip prices are on average about $10 to $80 more expensive than Sunnyvale, Calif.-based AMD lists its chips on its own Web site."
Yeah...don't know why I'd every buy just the CPU from Dell's site. I'd maybe buy the whole PC, with an Athlon64 inside, but not just the CPU. I generally order those directly from AMD.
