Speaking of VMware...
VMware runs way better on AMD hardware than Intel. The increased cache latency and deeper pipelined CPUs impact VMware in a significant way. The increased memory performance from HyperTransport and the on-die memory controller also benefit VMware significantly. The AMD architecture excells in memory intensive applications (virtualization, MS Exchange, DB).

HyperThreading is a replacement for the traditional FSB, not a processor virtualization scheme attempting to keep your single CPU's execution pipelines full.

You need to do a little more reading and little less posting, IMHO.
