fiber/802.3 kvm solutions...
there is one aspect of blade pcs that CTO's and managers must account for.. running a VGA cable to another floor is impossable without KVM extending technology.

Fiber based KVM extenders are expensive yet offer great flexability (peer-to-peer fiber shots). 802.3 based KVM extenders are cheaper but are suseptable to DoS attacks. I used to work with both, and personally prefer (when cost is not applicable) fiber extenders. It offers zero latency (to any user) all while segmenting the digital networks. If a DoS attack were to cripple the ethernet network, 802.3 extenders will also be affected. a.k.a. administrators whom use these blade PC's won't be able to log in to their appropriated system for forensic analysis.
