You forgot the real most common task...
Gaming. That is where AMD is gonna eat Intel's lunch, dinner and next days breakfast.

Quick question - what is better in terms of CPU sales volume? Data center type servers (not a commodity that is bought and sold on a day by day basis) or middle to high end gaminig/multi-media pc's? The 64 bit addressing addresses issues regarding video rendering - which in turn will help drive development and production of more realistic gaming - which in turn will drive hardware sales (SATA drives anyone? In EIDE RAID array.) to both the box manufacturer and DIY market. And AMD is poised to glom onto that market in a huge way. AMD 64 chips have taken off in the DIY space - look to see more and more units available thru Dell/HP/Gateway etc.
