Think about this...
Today, when we see a cosmic event like a supernova, we know that
the event actually took place a long time ago, but it took the light
from the event a while to reach earth. The farther you look out into
space then, the farther back in time you see. But if we could travel
faster than time, then we should be able to position ourselves at
some point in the universe, look back at earth and see the past.
No?
