- avoid dell for following reasons-
-
1) brand name means nothing - all PCs are made in taiwan/china and only by two-three companies. Dell merely puts their label on the h.w. So if you get a better deal or a nicer looking gadget from someone else, go for it.
2) for businesses, dell sells overpriced, underperforming h/w. Most of their 'business' Pcs have onboard video and P4 ( P4 was discontinued by intel because its so crappy they are ashamed to sell it anymore).
3) help your local economy by a) buying from a local PC assembler ( prices are usually better than Dell and components are superior). b) assemble one by buying parts from BB/CUSA/FRY/TD etc when they have sales on specific components.
4) Dell doesn't even offer the best processor- AMD ; with me, they have already lost any chance they might have had otherwise. - Posted by: mvaar Posted on: 11/02/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
