Standard blades would be great for customers
that's why it won't happen! IBM likes to stay 90% standard - keeping that last 10% proprietary is all they need. They used to want 100% proprietary, but people got sick of that and they were charged with being a monopoly. Today they SAY they use standard stuff like X86 processors, but you STILL have to pay for that proprietary blade rack.
