Time Warner Cable tangles with DSL, dial-up

I'd rather have DSL than Cable: I've had both and the DSL is way more consistent when it comes to performance. There were times (usually on the weekends), when I had road runner cable service, that it would slow down to a crawl. I remember one time giving up on the cable and using my dial up because it was faster.
