What a novel concept. The judge required a physical demonstration of the patent in order for the patent to be valid.

Effectively the judge decided that in his court, you could patent hardware, not abstract ideas. This is amazing. That's what the original patent law required.

It also absolutely eliminates software patents. This would bring our law into alignment with European law as reported by Eben Moglen in issue 34 of "Linux User & Developer" magazine.
