Global corporations are independent from the USA
Large global corporations are beyond the control of the USA and the laws of independent countries.

Problems like 'modern day slavery' are only controllable on a global level. In many ways poor countries are easily 100 years behind what comes to human rights, working conditions, and so on.

Companies that outsource their production to these countries should be made liable and held accountable. They should provide the same working conditions as in any western country, including health care, pension plans, worker security. The company should pay for these benefits and uphold the standards since these countries do not have proper laws and or means to control the situation.

Perhaps there should be a global organization that taxes all those companies on a global level independent of any single country to ensure that proper care is taken when production is moved to poor countries. Using these funds, 'global laws' could be upheld and developed, and companies could be held in a short leash.
