Living Wage
That is the definition that is spouted by the left, but what do they really mean? I suspect that these third world employers are paying enough for their people to buy food, shelter and clothing. But I suspect that the UN's definition of a living wage also requires that these people be on a financial par with the rest of the industrialized world.

We forget that the industrialized world started out just as these countries did. People developed economic systems that worked. People worked within these systems and improved themselves and survived and prospered.

Third world countries need to develop in similar ways. I believe that the presence of these manufacturing jobs in those countries will eventually help them to develop. But if you insist that these companies pay wages and benefits similar to those paid in industrialized nations, you will simply cause the third world jobs to dry up. Where is the incentive to move the jobs offshore?

As I asked before, which is better: A low paying job or no job? I am certain that these people cannot feed, clothe or shelter themselves with no resources. So which way do you want it.

Strangely, all of you righteously indignant types have refused to answer that simple question.
