CPU Quality has nothing to do with...

...the story NOT being here on zdnet. At least PC World (the source of the Yahoo! story) thought it was newsworthy enough to publish. Regardless of whether or not Seperons are any good--Celerons definitely ARE NOT, but that's just based on my lowly f*****g experiences with them--the fact that AMD outsold Intel IS big news, for both companies and their investors.

BTW, Athlon 64-based boxes are pretty cheap these days, and from my experiences with them, they've proven themselves to be quite good for a cheap 'hunk of crap', as you put it. Moreover, we've just purchased a couple of Turion64 notebooks from HP/Compaq for evaluation...so far quite nice performers, and to date we've been unable to realize any sort of advantage had we chosen an Intel-based processor laptop instead.
