"Dell opens design center in Singapore"
ZDnet article back in April.
Maybe they offshored too many things and ticked off too many employees, US suppliers and vendors.
Manufacturing overseas is a given since its hard to compete for that kind of labor but anything R&D should stay close to home base. The US is not a powerhouse manufacturer like it was in the 1950s so what's left? Research & Developement.
