What?
Dell is well aware of Intel's performance lag behind AMD. They have admitted that Intel IS behind right now, performance isn't everything that matters to them for the type of customers they sell.

In addition, if there were great enough demand for AMD-based products, Dell has said they would sell AMD's, but they get a lot of good deals from Intel, so there would have to be a reasonable amount of consumer pressure for AMD-based products.

Finally, what's wrong with giving Dell better discounts on CPU's than it gives to VoodooPC's? Voodoo doesn't give Intel anything but scraps of profit, Dell is a HUGE profit center for Intel, even with the discounts. With discounts for Dell, Dell is able to sell a lot more PC's thereby providing a LOT more profit to Intel. Even IF they lowered the price of their chips for VoodooPC, they'd likely see a proportional profit drop coming from that company.
