AMD v Intel

It is everyone's interest (but Inetl) to facillate competiton. Is anyone naive enough to believe that if Intel drives AMD out of business that processor prices would drop? So if Intel gives huge discounts, and offers inducements to builders which purchase high end chips in short supply (Dell and other builders) if they don't use AMD chips...or if they limit their agree to limit their PC sales containing AMD chips to 10%...how is that in the best interest of compeition? It is not in the consumer's best interest. Ever bought a beverage at a sports stadium with only one vendor? You always get less and pay more. A monopoly makes selfish decisions that benefit only itself. If I was AMD I would drop $100,000 in Eliot Spitzer's election fund....he would tear Intel up for restraint of trade.
