This IS the U.S. version of ZDNet...right? So why would you suppose that articles about Europe get in here? Probably because they relate to Americans in some way. HP is an American company.

Anyway... If you aren't an American or European IT worker I doubt you would agree that all of this is bad. For us it is horrible. Some of us are at the end of what were lucrative careers of which we spend years in school and years in the field trying to build. Have some respect when you talk about these things, it is a sensative subject.
American IT workers are responsible for much of the progress of information technology over the last three decades. It seems that the reward of wiring and globalizing the business world has resulted in our end. Big business lobbies the U.S. and European governments for their own interests, I suggest as IT labor you do the same. Organize, get involved, vote for candidates that will most likely look after your interests. As it has been said many times in these postings before Big Business and white collar worker's interest don't always run hand in hand.
