>> So, American companies are only allowed to hire American workers, and UK companies british citizens, etc. Doesn't seem like a recipe for building global corporations.

You always seem to ignore my responses but Ill try anyways. As being someone who is employed by a international corporation it works like this:

We hire foreign workers to work foreign markets where they interact with foreign customers. But, here in the states we hire local American workers to handle the American market to sell products to American customers. Do you get it? To make it simple: we hire people in the country where we want to do business. Now, for a company in India to work this way it would hire American workers to build software for an American customer. This is not a new idea since companies have been doing it for years and it has been very successful.

Your formula of having an American company hire foreign workers to work on an American product is called outsourcing. Outsourcing destroys local jobs. The destruction of local jobs mean less money in the local area. Less money in the area means other jobs that depend on the local area for support go away. Death to local area.

The next time your in the United States stop by Gary Indiana and take a look around. Read about the rich history of that once proud city and try to figure out what went terribly wrong to make it what it is today.
