you missed my point...
I must admit the P4's (2.6)and Athlons (2700)running Pro-Tools were against G4's but this was only because the G5 wasn't out yet when we were recording our new album last summer - In fact - neither were the 3.2 P4's or the 64/32 bit Athlon FX 3400 at that point (these are the processors that crushed the G5 in benchmarks - and the Athlon FX wasn't optimized, either). Just because Apple can't actually win some benchmarks they originally say they won, you feel the need to respond to my post?

I think you are concentrating on the wrong points in my post, but such is life. Regarding your 'Mac envy' comment, I think it's probably the other way around... My family and friends that use Macs (G4's) all love my computers and use them all the time - so apparently some Mac users don't hate PC's in an elitist and irrational way...

Also, I do like Macs, and I think they're getting closer to PC's in performance - but I'm also not blind to the innovations of the 'dark side'. I do a great deal of work with audio and I play a lot of different videogames, which isn't really possible to enjoy to full effect on a Mac, not at the moment at least, because of software and peripheral availability. And now I'm building my own machines, which saves me a bunch of dinero.

I was only mentioning that there's some pretty good PC's out there - some even costlier and more feature-laden than your Mac G5 towers - whether you want that to be the case or not. When a Mac can do for me what a PC does - I'll buy one - until then I'll have my opinion and you'll have yours. Peace
