5,000 applications for only 5,000 Itanics sold...
What a PR joke this is. It's been widely reported by numerous industry sources that HP has bailed on the Itanic and Intel is juggling numbers and PR hype to see how they can gracefully kill the Itanic which they can't even GIVE AWAY according to some industry reports. So now we see a PR song and dance of how much software exists for a product few if anyone actually desire and of which few have EVER been sold. If you can't give the G.D. thing away, who it their right mind is going to actually BUY an obsolete, narrow application, extremely impractical hunk of iron when they can have the X86 based Opteron??? BILLIONS of dollars in marketing has only dug a grave for the Itanic so you'd think Intel and HP would be wise enough to cut their losses and move on. but then neither company seems to have a clue about the marketplace these days based on losses in market share across the board.
