The poison pill - how the end must be near for Scott and the boys
We all know that this posion pill is a way for Scott and the boys to stay in power even tho over the years Sun has been falling by the way side. Lets look at Java and how much Sun has been pushed aside by IBM, Oracle, Apache, JBoss. They still might have control but they have lost the edge. There install base for there app server is small and shrinking every year, netbeans is on its ass and people are moving away from SunOS.

When you look at the Unix/Linux landscape these days it shows the strong shift away from propriety Unix. Look at the amount of work IBM has put into linux, HP is also getting on board by running Linux on there large server hardware. In both cases I see them at some point drop AIX and HPUX in favor of Linux. The only reason Sun is holding on is becasue of the install base they had from the .com days and with the treands that is going on at the moment with the migration away from Sun onto Linux the writing is on the wall for the death of SunOS. Most of the other players in the Unix field are slowing been writen into history."It was good for the time but now on to greater things"

To the shareholders for Sun, it time for a changing of the guard at Sun and you are the only people that can make this happen.
