Thin clients are going somewhere and they are going there fast. The big breakthough is going to be in the end-user.

Would you pay say 30 dollars a month for a computer, with broadband, that was always the fastest around. It always had enough memory, unlimited hard drive space, the top of the line graphics card and near-limitless processing power?

Thats totally out of reach for normal desktop computing as it exists today, but is totally possible right now with today's technolgy using thin clients.

Rumor is a partnership between google and sun to do just that.
