shareholder value via productivity enhancements."
That's managerial blabber talk and desire. The facts are different as I see every day in very large corporation. They know what productivity is, but frequently don't have a clue where it is. IT solutions for productivity are mediocre. One of the best examples is complete lack of understanding of reuse as a term or efficient SDLC.
