shareholder value via productivity enhancements."

That's managerial blabber talk and desire. The facts are different as I see every day in very large corporation. They know what productivity is, but frequently don't have a clue where it is. IT solutions for productivity are mediocre. One of the best examples is complete lack of understanding of reuse as a term or efficient SDLC. What can I do if they could not read a book at least that one published years ago (no I am not going to mention its title here - I prefer to keep certain expertise to myself as a consultant).
