Just for the record
The zdnet article incorrectly states that the Athlon(XP, MP etc...) has a 15 stage pipeline, and it only actually has a 10 stage pipeline just like the P3 did. When they went to the Athlon 64, it then had a 12 stage pipeline. Anytime a clock for clock performance comparison was made between the P4, and the Athlon, the P4 lost badly. The Athlon 64 is an awsome chip despite anything Intel would have you believe.
