Most interesting analogy that can be expanded.
At the center of many galaxies, including our own, exists not a blackhole, but a supermassive blackhole. The huge gravitational pull consumes all the stars near the center. You can effectively call the stars ISVs. These stars of course just feed into the massive collection of matter at the center. Eventually it consumes everything within its reach then goes dorment. If it manages to collided with another galaxy it will feed again. Otherwise it is doomed to an extremely slow process of evaperation.

Regardless, Microsoft and the blackhole will exist for a long time. It will have an influence on the rest of the galaxy, but it will diminish overtime.
