Cyrix "suckED"
That CPU was the worst I have ever seen. Intel this time did Epson a favor. Performance of Cyrix was lower than anybody it ran hot and caused a lot of GPFs. I would upgrade with AMD and throw the chip in the garbage.

That info is rather stale... Cyrix (now part of Via) licked the heat problem. In fact, their latest can run @ around 1.5 GHz all day long - with NOfan on board. Running a comparable Intel or AMD or ANY other CPU without a fan would cook the chip in minutes.

Google "Cyrix" and see the info yourself.
