IBM DOES NOT MAKE A x86 Processor.

Motorola is closer to that that that, and if you want to be fair.

Back then there was IBM, Cyrix, AMD, Intel, DEC Alpha, HP, Sun, Motorolla, MIPS, SGI, and some others I don't know about.

Today, AMD, Intel, Via, IBM, Motorolla, Sun, ARM, and for a short while, there was Transmeta.

But to be honest, Transmeta was so doggishly slow, that I really don't consider it a decent x86 processor. I own it, it works, but not very well. I think my p233 has more of an FPU than it does.
