Don't agree with the settle for less proposition
Been using AMD for a number of years now, and have been very happy. However, I'll be absolutely honest and say that I started using them solely because they were cheaper than Intel - however! I have used Intel machines at work, and striclty AMD for home. Frankly I have yet to see any kind of performance edge from an Intel CPU that would make me want to fork over a premium to use a P4 versus an Athlon.
