I believe that AMD has a very large pressence in the gaming community which is probably the 2nd biggest market for computer sales.

If you need a server you buy Intel, if you want a gaming system, you buy AMD. That seems to be the common opinion amoung most tech-savy people.

Asus was the first to release the SLI for AMD only. SLI is where you can have 2 PCI Express video cards working together to increase video performance.

Asus AI NOS Booster is only on AMD chips. This features the ability for software to Overclock the chip automatically when its needed then return to the original clock speed when its no longer needed.

This smart overclock technology is not available on Intel chips.

I believe that ASUS continues to grow in the gaming community and I also believe that the gaming community continues to grow.

I think that ASUS should continue thier marking in the gaming community and perhaps monopolize it.

This would give ASUS some pull with Intel and perhaps it would create some sort of balance between the two super giants.

Lastly, theres the claim that Intel and Microsoft have been in bed together for some time. Intel's chips just work better with Micrsoft products. Mostly because Intel was the first and Microsoft built software to work with just Intel chips.

No-ones fault really, but I think AMD has to work extra hard to compete with this.

My final opinion is that AMD has had a tough time because of Microsoft and Intel's history together. AMD has done a great job competing with Intel under these circumstances. But I don't think taking Intel to court is the solution.

I think by continually offering products that Intel doesnt have is the best way for AMD to continue to grow. Give the buyer a selection between two very different products and some will always choose AMD features over Intel.

I have both Intel and AMD machines. I find that Intel works with less bugs with Microsoft products. I also believe that Video Games work faster with AMD products.

I hope we continue to see new inovative products from AMD and I hope to still be able to rely on Intel products when I need the assurance that it will just work because of many more years of know how.

I view Intel as a tool to get the job done and AMD as a fast car that I bought for fun.
