We see it. You obviously don't.
Wow. You obviously are not a free thinker, instead believing that which is posted on a web site as opposed to using common sence. Either that, or this is a troll.

The military doesn't scare as easily as civilians do. They train, they are a unit, and they are armed. They shoot back. The goal of terrorism is to scare the population AGAINST the government.

Look at Spain. a couple well placed bombs in a subway, and the civilian populace is screaming to get the troops out of Iraq, as they don't want to get blown up. If you don't, you're not getting elected again.

As for commondearing a plane, the terrorists used our own naivetity against us. In the past (and as they were told) they thought they were flying to some island, like hijackings before. The hijackers would escape, the pasangers would be debriefed, and they would then enjoy a few drinks before returning home.

The flight over PA proves that. Once the people on board understood (via cell phone calls about earlier events) what was actually happening, they took matters into their own hands, knowing they were not being hijacked and flying off to some island someplace, but instead having front row seats in a flying missle.

and Flying a 747 is EASY with all the onboard computers. I HAVE done that. The hard part, the part that takes skill and training, is the takeoff, and even more importantly, the landing, skills the terrorist had no need for.

I hope this is just a troll, as for the first time in any of my posts here, I will say something I've never said here before:

Dude, you are a freaking IDIOT if you believe that crap.

(and as why paper could survive: The pictures on TV show paper EVERYWERE. You think it came frome the other buildings, you know, where people weer just throwing sheets out the window, as isn't that the first thing YOU would do in an event like this?)
