Well, MIPS per dollar or MIPS per watt is what determines best.
Actually, TCO per MIP is what is important. If you can pack them closer to gether and pay a lot lest for power including air conditioning, your costs are lower. With smart companies running server farms on Linux, software will not be a huge issue for many applications.
