What you don't know about people
could hurt you more so than less knowledge about chips. These days, most organizations are satisfied w/ chip performances. While Intel tries to tell us we need to go w/ the Itaninum chip, we are happy w/ the AMD Opteron or the Intel Xeon.
Now for those who need power like the HP Superdome (which is a good box) w/ Itanium, I still perfer the p595 w/ the Power5 since it out performs the Superdome w/ only half the chips inside. And we use this box w/ oracle (and other things of course since it is LPARed) and our oracle license is less.
