Actually sure there are but there would be some execptions(Port Scanners, Network Security Tools, AV) Basically anything that might keep trying to phone home or scan port ranges. But without knowing the "how", everything else is a baseless arg.

It's not determined by MS or any MS file patterns at all. It is determined by admin policy settings in Longhorn server(Up to Date AV, Up to Patches, etc.). If you were to get calls from end users not being able to connect under the L Server security, it would only because admins have set it too tight and/or the end user's PC does not meet the policies crit.

Also, you should see what pattern your IM prog is matching and contact F-Secure if you haven't already.
