Traffic patterns
"It is looking at changes in traffic pattern behavior".

True, it didn't say "typical traffic patterns". I assumed, since traffic changes continually and often by large amounts, that they would have to allow changes in traffic from one instant to the next. "Traffic pattern" I would think means traffic over some period of time with some characteristics that would make it a "pattern". That would be the typical traffic pattern for a given machine.
