Think what you will save on heating bills during the winter! lol

Seriously, I was talking about my own selfish concerns, and I don't run a large data center. I only have six machines in my office and even that raises the room temperature enough that I put in a small air conditioner just for this room to keep it comfortable on hot summer days. In the winter its kind of nice.

Years ago I worked for a few years at Bell Labs and the building I worked in had so much electronic equipment (a 5,000 sq. ft. switch occupied the center of the building) that it heated the entire building. Even in January when the outdoor temperature was below zero they had the air conditioning on.

Nevertheless, personally, I would rather have a faster machine than a lower power machine.
