It usually does
Of course Intel wants increased sales, but not being part of Intel, I'm more interested in my own selfish concerns. Which is machines that can do more in less time.

My laptop was purchased specifically to be a "mobile workstation". And at 2.8 Ghz and 1 gig of RAM its not bad. It would be nice to have the battery last longer, but like a machine is never fast enough, a battery will never last long enough. Mostly I use the laptop from hotel rooms and airports (where I can usually find an outlet to "top off" the battery) and I use it for the same functions that I use a high end desktop when travel is essential.

I much prefer working in my own office which is set up for my convenience but travel is necessary sometimes, to meet with our development partners in other parts of the country and most recently I had to be an expert witness in a federal court in another state.

So I do appreciate small size and light weight when I'm dragging everything through airports etc. but I'd still rather have performance.
