Roadmap and Apple
Maybe this is the reason Apple is going to Intel chips. They saw
that the power levels are going down to levels of the PowerPC
and lower. The dropping of NetBurst will allow programs to run
without worrying if another app is trying to use the same
resources and be a hog about it.

As a previous post points out, the speed of the clock is only a
tiny fraction of the overall reason a system can go faster. If the
chip makers can get the FSB up to half the CPU clock speed like
PowerPC and memory makers keep turning out faster RAM then
we should still see a good increase in performance. System I/O
architecture is getting better and the new cardbuss types are
beginning to catch up to rest of the system.

I still like my Mac Mini for the low power, quiet and small space
it offers. I'm ready for the new Intel based Macs to come out and
give me access to some of the insane graphics cards available to
PCs. I do as much or more with half the graphics RAM than a PC
now, want to see what I can do with bigger, better, faster.
