Power consumption is of little interest to me
Outside of laptops and other portables, who cares about power consumption? If the chip runs too hot, a bigger heat sink and a better fan can handle it, as long as they can get the heat from the chip itself to the outside of the package.

I'm MUCH more interested in performance.
