Tom's Hardware Guide just did a test using the Pentium M with an adaptor for a desktop motherboard. Not only did it use less power, but with a mild overclock it blew away the Athlon 64 FX 55 and the 3.06 Ghz P4. It just confirms what you say: processing power is more important than horsepower.
