Okay, pretend I'm stupid...
...and no fair checking with my wife on that.

But what "niche" is it that these servers fill, exactly?

I'm not disputing the notion at all that this is a "must have" for someone somewhere--I just can't imagine who and where.

What can you do with a Power G5-based server running Linux that you cannot do with an AMD Opteron or Intel Xeon-based server running Linux?

Enquiring minds simply wish to know.
