No it wouldn't. PowerBooks are for business and they re not really rugged which is required for adventure. If use PowerBook in extreme conditions (Apple mentions backpacking with iBook) you can damage your precious piece of hardeware not to mention data. iBook is for adventure on-the-go. It 's case and hard drive is specially reinforeced and protected. The plastic used to cover entire iBook is also durable. That's why iBook can be dropped which I would not suggest to do with PowerBook. You walk with iBook wearing snickers, hiking boots, T-shirt and slackers. Yu walk with PowerBook wearing shirt and frequently tie or suit.

There is no real reason why Apple made decision not to add optional SuperDrive to iBook.
