No, Dell won't
90% of Dell's customers couldn't even tell you what a processor is. I don't think Dell will switch to a processor that their average customer has never heard of. Many people really think Intel is the only processor out there, that its a given that if you have a computer, it has an Intel processor in it. Dell has been doing extremely well without AMD in their lineup, what compelling reason do they have in taking a risk with AMD? Risk messing up relationship with Intel. Risk confusing their customers. Risk creating product lineups that compete with each other. Lots of risks here.

Most people know what Intel is and what they produce. I doubt Dell will switch to AMD except in a very limited capacity. Maybe they will sell some Opteron servers, but not much else.
