- RE: "What Thunder"
-
Personally speaking AMD has been the one to lead the race all this time. Back inthe days of the 386, Intel had it's 33MHz chips while AMD had it's 40MHz chips, not much but then, but a speed increase of close to 20% was a huge difference on computers of yesterday years.
Then AMD was the first to really break the 1GHz barrier with a CPU that worked at that speed (still a proud owner of my AMD Athlon 1.0GHz desktop from 2000, and still kicking)
Then AMD was the first for 32 and 64 bit operation mode
Then Dual-Core, etc....
I would like certain products from other vendors like Dell if they would start using more AMD chips, the performance with Windows XP really does blow away what Intel has to offer.
""Re:
"It's no secret that the AMD chips were released in advance of this week's Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco. AMD loves trying to steal Intel's thunder with the release of a new processor or other related technology right before or during Intel's shows."
Intel has NO THUNDER. All they have are obsolete, overheating, defective designs, that can't compete, based on any number of independent IT industry sources. Centrino was (past tense) the only good thing to come out of Intel in the past 5 years and now it is widely surpassed by AMD's Turion/Wi-Fi.
Intel FINALLY admitted last week that their fraud at the last IDF was actually two P4 CPUs "glued" together so they could "claim" they had a dual-core P4, when in fact they did not. You literally can't believe ANYTHING Intel Pimps disseminate to the media or public, IMNHO. They have been caught in so many misrepresentations, canceled so many products, shipped so many defective CPUs, Mobos, chipsets, etc. that no one with a clue would touch Intel products these days."" - Posted by: ajapierce Posted on: 08/22/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
