Transmeta came closest with its Crusoe processors - but they are not "true" x86 processors. Its just amazing how long lived the ARM processors are! Maybe InHell can pay THEM to design one for them. Although ARM processors (Xscale) have no floating point unit - which presumably you would want in an x86 unit.

Just how pathetic is it that the largest chipmaker in the world can't make an efficient x86 chip? Actually AMD and Via can't do it either, so maybe it CAN'T be done!
