Here are a few things:

1) First chips to push more speed with a lot less power

2) First chips to break the 1GHz barrier (by 9 months)

3) First chips to operate in both 32-bit and 64-bit modes at the same time

4) First chips approved for best in use, performance, and higher Green PC rating then Intel chips.

Not to mention, AMD has had the first support for a 64-bit version of XP from Microsoft, Intel doesn't even have 64-bit support yet for XP.

I'm not a side picker, i just want diversity on products, which is ALWAYS a healthy thing no matter how retarded people want to be over 1 product all the time. Intel is no exception and i have been really disappointed by them, they keep raising the costs of CPU's not helping to lower them. Atleast AMD is making good efforts to lower the costs of CPU's.

Not to mention there are also Transmetta and Cyrix to compete with on top of Sun's Chip's and IBM's brands.

Intel needs to make more effecient chips with a good balance of speeds vs. power consumption otherwise they will be the GAS GUZZLER's of CPU's jsut like SUV's are the replacement GAS GUZZLER's for Cadilac cars.
