Not sure when this info. from Pauli was obtained but Intel can't even release the Prescott at "higher speeds" due to mfg. issues with their defective 90 nano process. That's the reason they are over a YEAR late in releasing Prescott.
Dothan which is built on the same 90 nano process also suffers from excessive transistor leakage and it too is an overheating, flame throwing CPU as built according to online reports. Virtually every competent hardware review site, including the Intel fanboys like those at THG have acknowledged that Intel has major design and engineering issues with Prescott and their new 90 nano process.
Dothan better be one Helleva big jump in performance with a Helleva drop in heat and power consumption over Prescott which is 100+ watts and requires special CPU coolers/Mobos/Fire Suits, etc. According to Mobo mfgs. Intel can NOT correct the existing 90 nano problems and Dothan may have quite similar heat/frequency issues.
Looks like Intel's arrogance has really placed them in a bad situation and their Spinning to the media doesn't seem to be helping resolve techno problems or lost sales to Opteron/A64. Bet the SEC and IRS are gonna love reading Intel's 10Qs for the next two years.
