Money ain't everything. How about Marketvshare?
My understanding is that Apple computers (not iPod)'s market share is now at a whopping 1.88%. The only other time it was that low (in recent history) was 4th Quarter 2000 (at 1.80%). Before the Mac advocates scream, "Who care about Marketshare".. Well, Jobs does.. or did... or that's what he said when the G5's were launched. Something like "our goal is to get a 5% marketshare." I distinctly remember 5%.

So, what is Apple doing wrong? I tend to view Apple users as People who liked the TV show "Homicide". It got terrible ratings, but it was a *great* show with some of the best character development in TV. (Did anyone see the Subway episode? I have *yet* to see a series show beat that in Drama..) NBC kept it along because of the loyal fan base for years. Eventually, push came to shove in that NBC execs said put up or shut up. Well, now Homicide is in
re-runs...

Anyone have any thoughts or predictions on the dwindling Marketshare? They switched to a UNIX base. People (some) upgraded, but didn't switch from a PC. So, they launched a "switch" campaign. Market share dropped even more. They upgraded (long overdue) their processors. Market Share Drops again. I have a feeling it will get a little better, but still stay at the bottom.
