The iPod usurped Microsoft from trying to shove an inferior proprietary MP3 player down the throats of Window's users. For the first time in a long time Apple triumphed over the crap coming out of Redmond. I also see where HP is going to market the iPod and pre-install iTunes on their PC's. That kind of puts the kibosh on Microsoft's plans to encroach in the territory Apple has laid claim to. Also consider the fact that HP is the number one seller of Wintel machines and every single one of them will now come with iTunes. Nobody in their right mind would opt for Microsoft's lame attempt at a similar product. So I guess that's the correlation you were looking for.
