Well, at least they kept up with the industry, almost
As mentioned in a different article and hinted above, the pc industry grew by 12% to 15% in the quarter (depending on whose numbers you use) and 11% for the year.
This means Apple is following the industry trend.

What bothers me is the major decline in iMac sales. I think of iMac as entry level, and the rest of the models as upscale or replacements. If that's correct, then Apple is working its installed base well, but additions to that base are fading out.
So, one reasonable conclusion from the article is that Apple is withering from the bottom up.
Hope that's not true, though. Microsoft needs the help with concept R&D.
