It is all about consumption and the consumer.
The American consumer is a junkie that cannot just say no. Therefore we are at the mercy of the producer - our pusher.

When the consumer learns how to control their habit, they can once again determine the fate of their future. Until then, the producer enjoys the power to make us sit up and beg!

China is used to doing without and can just say no. Because of this, you can be assured they will wield great power as the consumer and also the producer. No amount of government intervention will control this process.

This is text book economics. The one who will eventually come out on top is he that makes the most efficient use of resources. Wise consumers are efficient but we junkies waste like their is no tomorrow.

We now have a trully global economy. And the production of our biggest need, the building blocks of IT, is moving to China. Until we can just say no to wasted IT investment, we are going to lose this battle. Us fat cat Americans are not about to take a cut in pay to produce our own IT. This is why the offshoring is so prevalent. And we cannot control our demand, which is the real key. So hold on for a reordering in the food chain.

Don't worry about war, China will beat us in the marketplace like the Japanese did.

The American consumer better get tough or pay the price.
