Problem is the solution
The RIAA keeps offering thier solution to the problem but don't really say what the real problem. They cry piracy but when they are shown what they can do or offered methods of stopping piracy that don't use thier solution they get upset. Why is that?

Simple because the problem they have isn't the same problem they keep telling they are having.

I see this all the time in security. Joe blow complains that security process X is stopping him from doing his work. So we fix the problem but Joe Blow is not happy because what he really wants is the elimination of security process X because it's a hassle. A hassle is not good reason for removing the process so he makes up problems and crys about them wasting our time find fixes that keep the security process but fix the made up problem.

This what I see the RIAA doing. What's thier real problem? I have my guesses.
